The aim of the workshop will be to explore how to approach to different techniques/machines/systems and create expressive musical/sound gestures with them focusing on how to design setups for live musical performance.

We will explore an ecosystem of tekno-organical practices to develop hybrid vocal performances. We will traverse expanded vocal techniques, vocal synthesis and processing (analogue and digital), and voice-trained models to understand different aspects of voicing. Studying and exploring vocal capacities of types of robots, mammals, birds, insects and natural phenomena and how they can relate to live musical practice.

Requirements

This workshop is open to all levels, no previous knowledge is required. We will go through multiple techniques of sound synthesis, processing and modeling, so it would be useful to have knowledge about the use of these techniques for live performances.
