Growing up in the Sakha Republic, the Russian North-East, Aldana Duoraan was drawn to the traditions of her land. She began playing the khomus — a type of mouth harp —at age six, and graduated from musical school majoring in the traditional folklore of the Sakha people. Basing her practice and performance around different types of khomus, Aldana creates waves of reflective tones and overtones. The resulting compositions retain the feel of minimalist modular experiments, introspective and deep.

Stas Shärifullá, also known as HMOT, is a Basel-based musician, researcher and artist exploring how sound shapes identity and memory, engaging with aural cultures of North and Central Asia, where storytelling and listening have historically been more important than writing. While performing with Aldana, Stas revisits the instrumental form her khomus, shifting the focus from its conventional ‘vernacular sounds’ to its more artificial and synthetic sonic possibilities through resynthesis and other computer music techniques.

Eldar Tagi is a Kazakhstani, Berlin-based sound artist, composer-performer, and researcher whose work spans live electronic and electro-acoustic improvisation, composition, and installations. Exploring dynamical systems, liminality, sound perception, and bio- and eco-acoustics, Eldar uses a range of tools—from self-made instruments and daxophones to analog synthesizers, field recordings, and computer software—to create intricate sonic landscapes that bridge experimental techniques and personal narratives, shaped by his mixed Central Asian heritage and nomadic experiences.
